Gambling addiction
Gambling addiction can lead to behavioural problems such as truanting, stealing and aggressive behaviour. Studies have shown that gambling among young people often goes hand in hand with other addictive activities such as drug taking and alcohol abuse and has been linked to juvenile crime.
With gambling addiction, gamblers just don’t lose money but life and family as well. Online casinos and Sports betting may seem harmless to some, but for others it is tearing their families apart and causing many people to lose.
Gambling addiction can be treated with following measures and methods:
1. Medications. Usually, gambling addicts are treated through medications in the form of anti-depressants or what medical experts call as Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors or the SSRR.
2. Psychological treatments. Most psychologists contend that the problem of gambling addiction is often associated with a problem on their cognitive behavior.
3. Through group therapy. Group discussions are also effective in treating gambling addiction. Through this method, gamblers will get to interact and discuss their own personal problems that led them to gambling.
